Vaccine-Preventable Diseases
Vaccine-preventable diseases are infectious diseases caused by viruses or bacteria that can be prevented with vaccines. Vaccines help people remain protected against diseases that could have serious consequences for their health and have helped reduce the number of people who experience the devastating effects of diseases like measles, diphtheria, and whooping cough (pertussis).
There are several vaccine-preventable diseases that healthcare providers are required to report if they suspect a person might be infected. Read more about VDH Disease Reporting and Control Regulations.
