Our seven Roanoke City & Alleghany Health Districts (RCAHD) locations offer reproductive health services to district residents, including confidential sexually transmitted infection (STI) screening and testing, as well as counseling, routine checkups, prevention services, treatment, and partner referrals. We place a strong emphasis on maintaining privacy and confidentiality for our clients in a non-judgmental environment. We accept most insurances and offer a sliding scale with free services for those who qualify based on income.

You can make an STI appointment by calling your local health department Monday through Friday between 8 am and 4:30 pm. The Vinton office currently offers increased weekly appointments for all RCAHD residents, contact 540-857-7800 for more information.

HIV Services- PrEP Program

PrEP (which stands for pre-exposure prophylaxis) is a daily medication that is highly effective at helping prevent HIV. Learn more about the PrEP Program and whether it is right for you.
