The AIM 4 Teem Moms Program

A new component to the Resource Mothers Program

AIM 4 Teen Moms, an evidenced-based, positive youth development program, encourages teen mothers to envision positive futures for themselves and to identify the practical steps necessary to achieve their long-term goals.

AIM 4 Teen Moms seeks to reduce rapid repeat pregnancies by helping teen mothers define specific life aspirations, engage in planning to successfully achieve them, and consider the role of contraception in their lives.  The program is designed for new teen mothers who are 14-19 years old and have at least one child. The ten (10) week program consists of six one-hour individual sessions, one ninety-minute (90) group session at the halfway point and another 90-minute group session at the end on the program. Teens participate during the home visit and/or community-based locations, by facilitators called Advisors). The Resource Mothers staff are trained to be advisors to teens in the program.

Resource Mothers Technical Assistance (TA)

VDH Resource Mothers program staff is available for individual and group consultation and technical assistance by phone, email, fax, or online meetings.

We use CQI (Continuous Quality Improvement) strategies for program administration initiatives.
