Oral Health Assessment

At Rappahannock-Rapidan Health District, we want to make sure everyone in our community is healthy. Maintaining good oral health is essential for overall well-being. Oral health encompasses more than just having healthy teeth. Chronic disease has been associated with gum disease and tooth decay. Early detection is crucial for preventing and effectively treating oral health issues.

RRHD conducted an Oral Health Assessment (OHA) to identify the most significant oral health issues. Feedback was gathered from community residents, dental practice leaders, and community healthcare professionals through surveys and listening sessions. The first part of the assessment has been completed with everyone’s valuable input. Now, the findings will be used to develop a plan for enhancing oral health in the community with the objective of improving overall health for everyone.
