Close to 1/3 of children ages two through five experience dental caries. And yet, tooth decay is one of the most common preventable diseases in children.

This program hopes to increase early recognition of disease and prevention through training dental and non-dental health professionals.

The “Bright Smiles for Babies” Program targets children from 6 months to 3 years of age and includes:

  • Oral screening and risk assessment
  • Oral health counseling for parents
  • Fluoride varnish application
  • Dental Referrals

We would like to thank the North Carolina Dental Screening and Varnish Project “Into the Mouths of Babes” for their generous assistance and support in the development of this program.
