Dental Sealant Program

Tooth decay is the most common chronic childhood disease yet only about half of school aged children receive dental sealants which are proven to help prevent tooth decay on the chewing surfaces of the back teeth, which are most vulnerable to decay.  Sealants are thin plastic-like coatings that are painted onto the teeth in just a few minutes.  Applying sealants in school-based programs is the most cost-effective way to reach the children who are at greatest risk of cavities.
