Food, Fun, and Flu Vaccines at the Charles City Health Department’s Open House

CHARLES CITY, Va. – The Chickahominy Health District (CHD) invites you to help celebrate the updates to the Charles City Health Department! This open house event will be held  Wednesday, October 9, from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the health department, located at 7501 Adkins Road in Charles City.

CHD staff will be offering guided tours of the renovated space, activities for children, photos with Chase from Paw Patrol©, and provide opportunities to learn more about the district’s various programs, services, and incredible staff. There will also be food and opportunities to win a door prize.

“We are excited to showcase our programs and remind community members we are here to provide many public health services,” said Chickahominy Health District’s Health Director Tom Franck, MPH, MD. “Also, it’s a great time of year to get your whole family their flu vaccine.”

Free flu vaccines will be available for those ages 6 months to 64 years old, and this age group can make appointments online in advance here: https://tinyurl.com/openhouseCC2024. High-dose flu vaccines will also be available for those ages 65 and better, and this age group can make an appointment by calling the Charles City Health Department: 804-829-2490. Those ages 65+ will need to bring their ID and insurance cards. Walk-ins for all ages are also welcome. Those under the age of 18 years will need to be accompanied by an adult.
