Mount Rogers Health District, Partner Agencies Kick-Off Bristol Community Health Assessment

MARION, Va. – Mount Rogers Health District will start the Bristol Community Health Assessment (CHA) on Tuesday, May 24. Community partners and community members are invited to be part of the CHA.

Partner agencies, including the City of Bristol, Bristol’s Promise, Healing Hands, United Way of Bristol, Bristol Public Library, Bristol Redevelopment and Housing Authority, Bristol Virginia Public Schools, Ballad Health, Bristol Department of Social Services, Bristol Sheriff’s Office, Bristol Chamber of Commerce, and Crossroads Medical Mission will discuss strengths, challenges, and barriers to improving Bristol’s health.

As part of the process, priority goals will be set for improving Bristol’s health over the next few years. Community input is valued and encouraged, and residents are invited to attend the CHA meetings and fill out the community assessment survey. The Mount Rogers Health District community assessment survey is located at https://redcap.link/CHA. Printed surveys are available upon request.

The survey asks about top concerns in the community, such as food access, mental health, education and transportation. Results will help to identify unique challenges and issues in Bristol.

The meeting will be held at 10:30 a.m. at City Hall in Council Chambers, 300 Lee Street, Bristol, Virginia.
