Crater Health District to Host Additional Community Testing Events

(Petersburg, VA.) — With the recent surge in COVID-19 cases, the Crater Health District (CHD) is offering additional testing sites across the district. The recently added sites will be held in several localities to ensure equitable distribution for testing.

Testing is available to all ages. However, a parent or guardian must accompany anyone under 18 years old.

Crater Community Testing Events:

  • Call 804-862-8989 to register for testing appointment.  Walk-ups may be accommodated based on testing supplies. Appointments highly encouraged, as tests are limited.
  • Tests are available on a first-come, first-served basis and at no cost to the patient.
  • No insurance needed.
  • The following testing events will use the three-day PCR test. A rapid test option is not available.

Thursday, January 20

2 – 5 p.m. at Peabody Middle School Parking Lot 725 Wesley St., Petersburg, VA

Friday, January 21

10 a.m. – noon at 709 West Atlantic St., Emporia, VA
10 a.m. – noon at 1239 Colonial Trail West, Surry, VA
2 – 4 p.m. at 233 S. County Drive, Waverly, VA

To protect yourself and healthcare workers, wear a cloth face covering or mask. Keep at least six feet of distance between yourself and other people at all times. Be sure to tell the testing providers if you have any symptoms of COVID-19, including fever, deep cough or shortness of breath, or believe that you may have been exposed to someone with COVID-19.
