Benefits 

You can apply for benefits online through the CommonHelp website. If you prefer to apply in person, you may do so at your local department of social services. This single application is how you apply for:

  • Medicaid
  • Food Assistance
  • Cash Assistance
  • Childcare Assistance
  • Heating and Cooling Assistance

Health Screening Information

You are eligible to receive a health screening at a local health department as part of your resettlement benefits. This health screening includes blood testing, a health history and physical, and vaccinations. You can find your local health department on this website. You should contact your local health department to schedule an appointment. 

Other Services

There are a number of other services that may be available to you. Refugee Resettlement Agencies can assist with things such as:

  • Employment 
  • Job Training
  • English Language Training
  • Case management
