In June 2023, a new training requirement was introduced for MRC Volunteers: Cybersecurity & HIPAA Training. This training is necessary to ensure that our Volunteers have the training and information they need to protect themselves and our agency from cyberthreats and to ensure agency compliance with HIPAA laws and regulations. All new MRC Volunteers are required to complete this training before they are considered deployable. Existing Volunteers were given a deadline of December 31, 2023, to complete this simple one-hour training. As this deadline is now past, existing Volunteers that have not completed the training will be considered non-deployable until they complete it.
The good news is that we have made this training as easy and convenient as we possibly can. You can complete the course on-line at your own pace, or attend an in-person, instructor-led course, or participate in a live, on-line instructor-led course.
To sign up for one of these options please go to the TRAIN website.

You can also click on the Search button (magnifying glass icon on the top right of the screen, and enter “1111599”. The search results should produce two options: “Self-Study” (that you complete online at your own pace), or “Instructor Led”. If you choose “Instructor Led”, you will need to select a session from any of the available sessions listed – these include in-person and virtual (on-line) sessions. If you are unable to access TRAIN, please contact your local MRC Unit Coordinator for assistance.
