The Division of Acute Care Services is responsible for the licensing and monitoring of provider compliance within state licensing laws and regulations through conducting regular, on-site inspections. The division also conducts surveys to determine provider compliance with Medicare and Medicaid requirements, as well as investigates state and federal complaints.

The Division of Acute Care Services oversees the state licensing programs for:

The Division of Acute Care Services also evaluates laboratories that perform diagnostic testing on human specimens (including physicians offices, hospitals, and nursing homes) under the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments of 1988 (CLIA) Program on behalf of the U.S. Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.
