A SUCCESS: Back to School + Sports Physicals -“KidzRKool” Clincs!
BRHD and partner Central Virginia Children’s Wellness Initiative (CVCWI), a local nonprofit founded by physicians from Pediatric Associates, spent the summer on Mobi (our mobile health unit) offering school and sports physicals throughout the District. We called it our “KidzRKool” clinics. Thanks to our teams, community partners like International Rescue Committee, Piedmont Housing Alliance, ReadyKids, and the schools’ nursing and family support teams, we served nearly 150 kids in Albemarle, Louisa, and Greene.
No insurance or appointments were needed. Just a consenting adult (18+) and the fantastic care of the CVCWI and BRHD teams.
We’re reviewing our progress and process and will report back here with our next steps for the KidzRKool project. Until then, a big THANK YOU to the schools, partners, and families who joined us.
